Description
The Lodge
The lodge capacity is high and can easily accommodate groups up to 30 at any one time. Guests stay in log cabins with full sitting areas, three piece bathrooms, and plenty of comfort. The lodge is licensed to accommodate up to 72 guests at any one time.
Back in the 90’s the current owners were running 500 guests through this lodge in a single season but decided to trim those numbers. As one can see the potential is limitless, depending upon what a new owner wishes to do.
Owner has planned to put up a new lodge to attract more corporate clients and as such would assist a new owner with details including costs involved in doing this. There are local builders available which will cut costs dramatically.
The Cabins
Each cabin has a deck and seating, comfortable beds, and plenty of space. They are fully thermostatically controlled and have separate bedrooms. Features log cabins that will accommodate parties of up to four, six or eight people.
This lodge could also be operated as a light house-keeping facility should a new owner wish.
The Area
Located in Northern Saskatchewan fishing lodge sits along the shores of a lake, which is part of the world-famous Churchill River System. This is a fly-in lodge that is easy to get to, just a short flight from the La Ronge Airport. Other convenient access options are also available. When prior owner built this lodge, he picked a location no more than 30 minutes by float plane from La Ronge.
The Fishing
This is trophy fish country and the main lake has both Trophy Walleye and Trophy Northern Pike. This lodge is now and has always operated as a catch and release lodge, because of the current owner’s conservation efforts, the lake is full of Trophy fish. This is one of the reasons the lodge has such a high rate of repeat guests – although the fishing is exceptional now, it just gets better every year.
What is unique about this lake is that it offers a wide diversity of fishing opportunities. There are the quieter places where the big Northern Pike like to lurk and the heavy action places amid the whitewater riffle zones where guests can battle big Trophy Walleye. All the while guests of the lodge are surrounded by the most amazing natural and scenic vistas. This is definitely a place that people who love to fish should venture.
Whether it’s the fast-paced action of the scrappy walleye or the adrenalin rush of going head to head with a massive northern pike, the waters around this lodge has it all. “Fabulous” might be the best word to describe the fishing on the historic Churchill River System, but it doesn’t do justice to this mighty northern river, which is really a maze of lakes and streams that stretches across a thousand miles of the Canadian Shield and has perhaps some of the best fishing in Canada. It has long been famous for its northern pike, lake trout and walleye. Guests at this Lodge will have the opportunity to fish the lakes and rivers of one of Canada’s most productive waterways.
The Equipment
Guests fish from Lund boats and every fishing trip has been fully guided. The guide ratio is one guide per two fishermen. Boats are all 16 Ft Lunds. They are all in good shape. The outboards are all Yamaha 20 & 25 HP, all are in good running condition. Both Generators are in excellent running condition. 40 KW Yanmar that was purchased new in 2014. The back-up generator is a 50 KW Izuzu that was completely rebuilt in 2016.
Management
Present owners would be willing to stay on in a management position, should new owners require. With their vast experience and excellent reputation in this industry their participation would be invaluable to any new owner. They would also participate in an advisory position for a period of time in order to familiarize a new owner with the entire operation as well as introducing a new owner to existing guests of the lodge.
